Pownce - Send Stuff To Your Friends

The new startup from Leah Culver, Kevin Rose, Daniel Burka, and Shawn Allen has a name - Pownce.

pownce home page

Whose idea was Pownce you ask? Leah Culver writes, “Pownce began as my hobby project, playing around with sending messages and media to my friends.” She goes on to say, “I was also learning Django, a new web framework for Python. I really wanted to learn a new language and develop a web application from scratch. My friends Daniel Burka and Kevin Rose were thinking of their own ideas for a new website and after chatting we decided that together we could make something pretty cool.”

It is currently in ‘invite only’ alpha and as of this writing I don’t have an invitation myself but I hope to have one soon.

It appears that I am not the only one in the dark about this either. When I posted to twitter earlier to see if anyone I knew had an invitation available, Robert Scoble replied back, “Pownce? What the hell is Pownce?” If Robert doesn’t have one then I really don’t know anyone else to turn too. Leah Culver?
